The Consular Corps College is a non-profit, non-political professional society organized by and for consuls. Its objectives are to bring consular officers together; to serve as a channel of information about consular affairs; to enhance our professional effectiveness; to inform those with whom we deal about our functions; and to improve our ability to serve the governments which appoint us.
The College was founded in 1969 by Consul General Walter R. Regirer with the primary goal of increasing professional communication among foreign consular officers serving in the United States. It is registered as a non-profit corporation in the State of Virginia.
Our Purpose
- To increase communication and fellowship among foreign consular Officers currently serving in the United States.
- To exchange professional information which will help consular officers in the effective performance of the duties entrusted to them by their sending States.
- To circulate the latest information on consular practice and law to consular officers; to their sending States; to local, State and Federal government officials in the United States; and to others affected by consular services.
- To educate a wider public about the nature and importance of consular functions and thereby remove impediments to the effective performance of consular duties.
